Jacqueline M Downing, age 75, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at The Cleveland Clinic.

She was born June 22, 1945 in Norwalk to the late Clifford and Grace (Gamble) Scheid. She was a 1963 graduate of Milan High School and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She met Bill Downing during the Army, where she married him on June 22, 1968 and raised her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, picnics, various hobbies and attended funerals and luncheons while visiting with friends.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William Downing of Norwalk; children, Jason Downing of Norwalk, Susan (Homer) Null of North Fairfield and Jennifer Downing of Norwalk; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Brian (Claire) Scheid of Norwalk, Steven (Janey) Scheid of Milan, Kathryn (Joel) Poyer of Berlin Heights and Daniel (Annette) Scheid of Norwalk; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Attendees will be asked to follow certain safety and social distancing guidelines. They should be prepared for the possibility of waiting outside the funeral home as a limited number of general public will be allowed at a time.

A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk with Monsignor Kenneth Morman officiating. Facemasks must be worn to enter the church and social distancing will be practiced inside, others are encouraged to watch the live webcasting at stpaulchurch.org. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

Iam so sorry to hear of the passing of Jackie Downing !! She was a very sweet person who always took the time to help and listen to others!! She will be truely missed!!! Rest in peace God only takes the Best!!!!

Jackie was a kind-hearted soul who was a wonderful friend to everyone. She will be missed by many, but will she will enjoy the peace with being with the Lord. Love & prayers to her family!
