KELLEYS ISLAND — Michael Joseph Feyedelem, 76, of Kelleys Island, died Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 18, 1947, in Sandusky to the late Joseph F. and Gertrude “Monica” (Kirner) Feyedelem.  Michael served in the US Army as a military policeman with the 101st Airborne including a year tour to Vietnam. After his service, he was a millwright at New Departure Hyatt Bearing for 31 years and served on the UAW Local 913 board for a number of years. He served as a Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for many years and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. After retirement, he and Vi lived on Kelleys Island where he enjoyed classic cars, his Lionel trains and served as the Quartermaster for VFW Post 9908 for nearly 20 years.

He is survived by his sons, Michael S. Feyedelem (Jana) of Kelleys Island and Christopher Feyedelem (Vickie) of Logan, Utah. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph of Pocatello, Idaho, Elise of Los Angeles, Jake (Kyla) of Okinawa, Japan, Isaac of Salt Lake City, Utah, Calvin Popp (Eleni) of Lubbock, Texas and Shelby Popp of San Diego; siblings, Barbara (Jerry) Donnelly of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, Alice (Ron) Mettert of Nalcrest, Florida, Joel (Barb) of Sandusky and Marie (Jim) St. Julian of Manistique, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Violet “Vi” (Ward) Feyedelem in 2020, and daughter-in-law, Melissa.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Zion Methodist Church on Kelleys Island, followed by burial with military honors at Kelleys Island Cemetery on Division Street.
