Harold D. Abner

Harold Dean Abner, age 86, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born October 31, 1939, in Kentucky to the late Ezra and Mallie (Roark) Abner. He was raised in Summersville, West Virgina and met the love of his life, Mavis Talbert, to whom have been married for 67 ½ years. He retired after 30 years with the Lorain Ford Motor Co. and always enjoyed refurbishing and selling golf carts. He built houses, worked, fished and went deer hunting with his family. He was a member of the Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711 and former masonic lodge member. He enjoyed wintering in Florida for the past 13 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mavis (Talbert) Abner; children, Jeff Abner of Monroeville, Darrell (Elizabeth) Abner of Norwalk, and Diana (Mitchel) Greenberg of Bay Village, OH; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Elisha, Charles, Wilford, Jim, Rosella, Lillian, Mildred, and Brenda.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until time of service at 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, with Rob Duncan officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
