Virginia “Ginny” L Dideon Brant, age 85, passed away on May 4, 2026, at Norwalk Memorial Home, in the presence of her loving family. With the quiet faith that guided her life, she found peace and rest, trusting she was being guided to a place of green pastures and still waters, where her soul was restored and goodness and mercy endure forever.
Born June 28, 1940, in Groton Township, Ohio, Ginny lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for those around her. A proud graduate of Ross High School and Fremont Beauty School, Ginny built her early life in the Fremont/Bellevue area before marrying the love of her life, Gary A. Brant, on February 6, 1971. Together they created a home filled with laughter, devotion, and a shared commitment to family.
One of Ginny’s most meaningful accomplishments was taking the Oath of Office in 1992 through the Huron County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). She served with a fierce heart, standing up for children who needed a voice and offering comfort and guidance to families in difficult moments. Her service left a lasting impact on the community she cared for so deeply.
Ginny was preceded in death by her father, Linus Dideon; her mother and stepfather, Loretta and George Zilles; her beloved husband of 48 years, Gary Brant; and her sister, Diane Troxel.
She is survived by her sister Betty Meggitt; her children, John (Ronna) Brant, Penny (Chris) Stang, and Carla (Ron) Osborne; her grandchildren, Jeremiah (Sarah) Brant, Samuel (Nina) Brant, Christopher (Shannon) Stang, Kaeleigh (Brett) Lowden, Jonathan Shaw, and Amanda Shaw; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ginny will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, her knack for baking and her willingness to share with others, and her lifelong desire to help those in need. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched—through her service, her kindness, and the example she set for her children and grandchildren.
