William "Nubbs" R. Hubbard Jr.

William “Nubbs” Roy Hubbard Jr, age 55, of Collins, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, December 13, 2025, at his residence.

He was born June 6, 1970, and was a 1988 graduate of Bellevue High School. He attended college and nail technical school. He worked as a general manager in the garden center at Walmart and security with the Bellevue Library. He was a correctional officer for 27 years with the Huron County Sheriff’s Department as a Sergeant. He was an avid Madden football game enthusiast, enjoying the outdoors, and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters and attending their sporting events, watching action movies and especially enjoyed “Bee Keeper”, music, food, and Wings. He was a Monroeville middle school football coach, and an avid Steelers and OSU fan.

He survives by his wife, Holly A. (Boehler) Hubbard; daughters, Harleigh A. Hubbard and Haddie Hubbard; brother, Michael Hubbard; sister, Rita (Eric) Bailey and their daughter, Shay; sister-in-law, Stephanie Hatton and son, Wyatt; mother, Norma (Lane) Hubbard; in-laws, Mary Ann and Gary Boehler; and special Mamaw and Pops, Karen and Larry Coleman; other nieces and nephews, Lori Kaiser, Joe Hire, Sam Hire, Krista Manbeck, Chad Zieber, and Shawn Zieber, Patty Robison, and Steve Hill; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Hubbard Sr. in 2011.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the family or one’s favorite charity.

I dated bill in high school I was a freshman and he was a senior his parents were very very nice people bill was a wonderful guy I can't believe this happened to him my condolences go to his wife and his children and all his family members I'm so sorry he will be greatly missed he was a very good guy and did a great job for the community
