Judith “Judy” Ann (Pierce) Missig, 84, of Norwalk, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.
She was born Sept. 7, 1940, in Norwalk, daughter of the now-deceased Dr. E.R. Pierce and Mabel (Alexander) Pierce. After graduating from Norwalk High School in 1958, she worked for the Norwalk Truck Line.
In 1962, she married Kenneth “Kenny” James Missig. They shared a wonderful life together raising five active children. After the kids were grown, Ken and Judy would be found traveling around the country in their motor home or cruising through Ohio in their Cadillac Eldorado convertible. Their journey together was cut short in 1999 due to Ken’s untimely death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Allison Marie Missig; and in-laws, Robert and Laverne Missig, Dorothy Missig and Fred Missig.
The family thanked the many friends and neighbors who helped to make it possible for Judy to stay in her own home for so long, and Fr. Charles and the St. Joseph lay ministers, NOMS Norwalk Family Practice, especially Dr. Jennifer Allsop and the Fisher-Titus Medical Center 3-North nursing staff, and Stein Hospice.
