Roger "Billy" W. Reed, Jr.

Roger “Billy” William Reed Jr, age 60, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday morning, August 3, 2025, at his residence.

He was born November 21, 1964, in Bellevue, OH and was a 1983 graduate of Norwalk High School and attended EHOVE machine trades program. He served in the Army National Guard. 

He worked at IPC in Norwalk, drove trucks for R&L trucking, Ploger and Schneider. He enjoyed working as a parts expert in Norwalk at Auto Zone. He was a former member of the Wakeman masonic lodge, and enjoyed astronomy, traveling to the Mansfield observatory and studying the constellations. He was also a Ham Radio operator, road his electric bike around town, enjoyed guns and his music.

He is survived by his parents, Rodger “Bill” and Linda (Maynard) Reed of New London; brother, Jeff Reed of Norwalk; and sister, Lori Oates of Bucyrus; and numerous nieces and nephews; aunt and uncles, Moe and Mary Moore of Greenwich, Claude Maynard and Michael Duke, both of Columbus; his cat, Loki; and his best friend, Heather Cordray.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Reed in 2015; cousin, Mark Moore in 2014; and his maternal grandparents, Claude and Pearl Maynard; fraternal grandparents, John and Flossie Reed.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A reception will follow at the Fitchville Township Hall, 2700 Crescent Road, New London, OH. Private interment will be held at Milan Cemetery at a later date.
