Theodore George Grys Jr, age 88, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Friday, December 13, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born December 5, 1936 in Strongsville, OH to the late Theodore Sr. and Mamie (Urbanik) Grys. He was a 1955 graduate of Townsend Wakeman High School and served 23 years in the Army National Guard as a Sergeant First Class in Norwalk. He was the former owner and operator of the Lone Elm Inn. He worked for over 50 years with the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 23 in Ohio and was an active member of the Norwalk VFW Post 2743, American Legion Post 41, and the Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711. He enjoyed spending time with his family and camping on the family farm.
He is survived by his brother, Roger Grys of FL; children, Ted J. Grys of Norwalk, Timothy (Allison) Grys of New London, and Theresa (Mike) Scheiber of IN; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Grys of Norwalk; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nephew.
Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
