Wilma Lee Kemming

Wilma Lee Kemming, age 82, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born March 14, 1942, in Toledo to the late Ellsworth John and Virginia Kemming. She enjoyed spending time with her family, showing horses, going hiking and outdoors, where she hiked in the Rocky Mountains. For many years she worked with people with disabilities and helped them get a job. She worked at Erie County Care Facility for many years as a bus driver. She was known as a daughter of Jesus and attended the Norwalk Alliance Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristin L. Short; and granddaughter, Nicole and her three children; siblings, Edward (Connie) Kemming, Grace L. (Rick) Reed, and Barbara (Gary) Barnett; sister-in-law, Betty Kemming; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Thaxton; brothers, Robert Owen Kemming and Ellsworth “John” Kemming; and sister in infancy, Mary.
Private interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
