Edward Roy Herman

Edward Roy Herman, age 85, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Elms Retirement Village Nursing Center in Wellington.
He was born July 19, 1939, in Dover, OH to the late Roy and Margaret (McGovern) Herman. He was a graduate of Sugarcreek Shanesville High School and was a 1961 graduate of Otterbein College. He taught math at Millersburg High School and Zanesville High School. He worked as a computer programmer at National Cash Register Company, and as a computer analyst at The Toledo Hospital for many years. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and was known as a generous, patient, grateful, and loving person. After retirement, he enjoyed volunteering with the Firelands Habitat for Humanity. He was an avid off roader and enjoyed driving his Toyota off road vehicles in Southern Ohio, and Pennsylvania. He loved his Airedale, Sadie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy “Dot” Herman of Norwalk; sons, Philip (Cathy Wu) Herman of NY, and Mark (Pauline) Herman of Portland, OR.
A graveside service will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Sugarcreek Union Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH.
