Richard L. Edwards

Richard L Edwards, age 89, of Fremont and formerly Norwalk, went to be with God on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Bethesda Care Center.
He was born September 25, 1934, in Brewster, Ohio to the late Donald D. and Blanche (Boughman) Edwards. He worked at Norfolk Southern Railroad as a machinist for many years and retired. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, enjoyed playing euchre with his family on weekends, and was known for his great love of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a former member of the Monroeville Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his friend, Dale for years talking on the phone and attending concerts. He attended the Norwalk Senior Center and won many cornhole and Wii championships and enjoyed square dancing over the years.
He is survived by his children, Richard S. (Tina) Edwards of Medina; Kelley (Scott) Dukeshire of Clyde, Katherine Buchanan of Lakeside Peggy (Jim Breyman) Buchanan of Norwalk; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Manack of Navarre; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and loving wife of 35 years, Sylvia (Jordan) Edwards in 2008; daughters, Rebecca Peterson and Rhonda Edwards; grandson, Tim Buchanan; son-in-law, JR Buchanan; siblings, Rosalla Dragash, Jane Masters, Eddie Edwards, Glenn Edwards, Grace Mang, and Wayne Edwards.
He will be missed greatly by his family and those that loved him.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:30 at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at Sandhill Cemetery in Castalia.
