Darlene M. Pheifer

Darlene Mae (Ruhl) Pheifer, age 80, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at her residence.
She was born March 26, 1944, in Elyria to the late Michael W. and Marian (Hendershot) Ruhl. She attended Elyria High School and worked a few years for the dog pound. She lived in Wakeman for six years, and then mostly in Norwalk, where she worked at American Excelsior and retired from Freudenburg in 2006. She was a social member at the Norwalk American Legion Post 41, Norwalk VFW Post 2743, and Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Rita (Fran) Thayer, Marjorie Mansfield, and Margaret Baldwin; favorite nephew, Skip Lequire; and special friends, Ray (Becky) Baldwin, and Helen Deeble.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Pheifer in 2020; siblings, Beverly, John Ruhl, Karen Ruhl, Sandra Lequire, and Bill Ruhl.
At Darlene’s request cremation will take place and private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
