Alice E. Ohlemacher

Alice E (Felty) Ohlemacher, age 91, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Norwalk Memorial Home.

She was born April 6, 1933, in Pine Grove, PA to the late Adam and Elizabeth (Newcomer) Felty and was the youngest of eight children. She was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and grew up with a large loving family. After graduating she met her future husband, John Ohlemacher, who returned to the States after serving during the Korean War. They married and moved then to Ohio where they raised their children and lived their life together. Alice worked at the local Fanny Farmers Candy factory in Norwalk for more than 25 years and loved to bring home the 2nds to share with family and friends. She retired in 1995 when the factory closed and then enjoyed spending her golden years in retirement going to garage sales, fishing for perch on Lake Erie, and babysitting her numerous grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, John (Linda) Ohlemacher, Jim (Karen) Ohlemacher, Jeff Ohlemacher, Jeanne (John) Stieber, Jack (Dawne) Ohlemacher, and Joe (Bessie) Ohlemacher, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Ohlemacher in 2011; her parents and seven siblings.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, August 19, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.  A graveside service will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Sweeney officiating.
