Barbara A. Smith

Barbara Ann (Heidl) Smith, age 69, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at her residence.
She was born May 28, 1955, in Norwalk to the late Robert and Helen Heidl. She was a 1974 graduate of Western Reserve High School and enjoyed working at Fanny Farmers. She was a wonderful babysitter to many over the years and for the past 19 years organized the Kids Zone at Prairie Peddler as proceeds would benefit the American Cancer Society or the Piggy Back Foundation in Norwalk.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Joseph A. Smith; children, Joshua L. (Sarah) Smith of Norwalk, Jessica M. (Zack) Schneider of Norwalk, and Bryan J. (Connie) Smith; grandchildren, Noah, Josie, Colton, Brynleigh, and Briella; siblings, Chet Heidl of GA, Helen (Dave) Mayle of Pickerington, Sue Bores of Toledo, Marcia (Steve) Rinner of Norwalk, and Bill (Shelly) Heidl of Norwalk; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Bradley C. Smith in 2008.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, August 12, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home with Chaplain Mike Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
