William "Bill" A. Woodford Jr.

William “Bill” A Woodford Jr, age 77, of Collins, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

 

He was born October 8, 1946, to William Sr. and Rita Mae (Minnich) Woodford.   He lived in New London, Norwalk and Collins over the years and was a businessman who mowed lawns and plowed snow.  Bill was known as a wonderful and caring man who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.

 

He is survived by his children, Jo Woodford, Brian Woodford, and Billy Woodford III; and grandson, Andrew Myers whom he raised; also, a grandfather to Cristal Riedel, Harley Swartz, and Xamara Woodford; great-grandfather to Coraline Myers; sister, Nancy (Tom) Roeder; nephews and other family members.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Florence L. (Ross) Woodford in 2023.

 

A graveside service will be held 11:30 A.M. Monday, July 29, 2024, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 200 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk.

 

Memorial contributions may be sent to the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
