Ronald Edwin Champney, age 82, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at his residence.
He was born March 14, 1942, in Norwalk to the late Milford Henry Champney and Edna Elizabeth (Sanders) Springer. He served in the US Navy and enjoyed fishing, trapping, hunting, football, baseball, and spending time outdoors and landscaping. He worked at the former Shellar Globe and was a farm hand in Wakeman at Canfield Farms.
He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Witter, Michelle Woods, and Sherry Jurist; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Judy Champney and Melissa (Ron) Mest; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Champney; and brother, Gary Champney.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2024, at Wakeman Cemetery, 5431 State Route 303, Wakeman, OH.
Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH.
