Raymond Dute

Raymond D Dute, age 80, of Norwalk, Ohio passed away last week. He was born November 5, 1943 to the late Buster and Otilla (Meyers).
He was surpassed in death by his loving wife of 60 years and Judith “Judy” (Sprankle) Dute, his brother Dean, sisters Mary Ellen, Edna, and Barbara.
He leaves behind his sisters Joann, Jade and Melody son Jeffrey (Teresa), daughter Rae Price (Billy), grandchildren Rachel Massie (Bill), Morgan Price (Daniel), Jacob Dute (Sarah), Madison Price, Marley Price (Alec), and great grandson Reed Dute-Semones.
He grew up in Berlin heights. Ray and Judy were teenage sweethearts and were best friends. Their loving home was open to all their friends and family. They made all around them feel like family and know what it meant to be loved.
Ray was an accomplished mechanical engineering throughout his adult life earning several certifications. Ray helped develop several parts for the space shuttle program during his time in Florida as well as working a long career with Bettcher Industries, Inc. in Birmingham, Ohio. Ray’s passion and dedication to his work was obvious to all who knew him. He was also an avid genealogist, mapping many thousand generations for most of the families around him.
When not working, Ray was always going out of his way to put a smile on everyone’s face. He loved goofing around with his grandchildren and telling the best stories.
A private celebration of life gathering will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St, Norwalk.
