Robert "Bob" E. Kobza

Robert “Bob” Eugene Kobza, age 75, of Wakeman, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born February 26, 1948, in Lorain, OH and was a 1966 graduate of Vermilion High School. He worked for the City of Vermilion’s street department, married Kathy Rauh, and then served in the US Army from 1968 through 1969.  He then worked at Lorain Ford for 30 years, and married Beverly Sue Boden.  He was a lover of nature, animal welfare and a great humanitarian.  He was a motorhead and muscle cars were his passion.  He owned several acres and enjoyed caring for his property and growing his garden, and he excelled at being a good uncle, neighbor, and friend.  He enjoyed the outdoors and his dog, Buster, and Kitty. He was most proud to share in the life of his grandson, Nick, and see him become a loving young man.

He is survived by his son, Mac and his wife, Dr. Mikki McComb-Kobza of Longmont, CO; grandson, Nick Kobza; and siblings, Steve (Carla) Kobza of Berlin Heights, Vivian (Ty) Derrow of Cincinnati, June (Michael) Wilkins of Vermilion, and Betsy (Dan) Hector of Sun City Center, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Esther (Papp) Kobza; brother, Emery (Gay) Kobza; and sister, Barbara (Bill) Ohle.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023, beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Bob’s home, 6248 State Route 303, Wakeman, OH.  Local arrangements by the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk, OH 44857.
