Anna Conney

Anna Marie (Boes) Conney, age 81, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday evening, May 30, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born December 3, 1941, in Norwalk and was a graduate of St. Paul High School.  She attended beauty college in Cleveland and worked as a hairstylist in Republic, before raising her four children.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sporting events throughout the years.  She was an assistant manager at the former Masons Department Store, Kmart, and worked at Avon Lake Ford, and the Morning Journal delivering newspapers.  She was also a caregiver with Renaissance House in Norwalk.  She volunteered at the Norwalk Salvation Army, and Food Bank.  She enjoyed camping and the Norwalk Rec Center and was a member of the silver sneaker club, cardio drumming, and swim programs.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles F. Conney; children, Kim Conney, Chuck Conney, Mike (Cindy) Conney, and Dan (Michelle) Conney, all of Norwalk; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Reese of Hinkley, and Millie (Pat) Pigman of Norwalk; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leo Boes.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Palm Tree Barn, 4496 Whittlesey Avenue, Norwalk.  Private interment will be held later.  Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Southern Care Hospice or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Many, many fond memories of Anna while working with her at Mason's Dept Store and having hilarious times with the Phi Beta Kappa gals. She was certainly a gem.
