Tulio R. Caputo

Tulio R Caputo, age 98, of Sandusky, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at home surrounded by family.

He was born October 4, 1924, in San Lucido Italy to Anthony and Carmella Caputo and immigrated to the US in 1927.

Tulio grew up in Chicago, IL and served as Military Police in the Army during WWII. After the service, he returned home, working for the Chicago Park District as a tradesman for 23 years and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local #73. If you knew Tulio, you know he was an avid golfer who truly loved the game and won numerous awards in tournaments over the years, enjoying remarkable success even on the toughest courses, including Cog Hill and Butler National outside of Chicago, and Pebble Beach in Monterey, California.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 75 years, Georgianna (Starcevich) Caputo of Sandusky; children, Tony (Lynne) Caputo of Woodland Hills, CA and Christine (Russ) Gibboney of Huron; grandchildren, Cory Caputo of Placerville, CA, Casey (Elyse) Caputo of Carlsbad, CA, Dominique Caputo of Woodland Hills, CA and Jason (Missy) Gibboney of Huron; great-grandchildren, Connor and Claire Gibboney of Huron and Jaxon Caputo of Carlsbad, CA

Tulio was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ernest and Tony and first-born daughter, Dianne Caputo (Furlan).

A funeral Mass will be held later in June 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Norwalk.   Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
