Susan Donovan

Susan (Zbrzeski) Donovan, age 81, of Norwalk, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023 at her residence.

She was born September 15, 1941 in Cleveland, OH to the late Stanley and Jessie Zbrzeski.  She was a graduate of South High School in Cleveland.  She worked at Sears, raised her family, and later worked at the Norwalk Public Library, Cablevision, and Durable Mat Corporation. 

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir with her husband, Jerry, and attending potlucks and other church activities.  She was active with the Senior Center’s Age Exchange program and other activities.  She enjoyed reading, traveling to Amish Country, Malabar Farm, traveling the country and her favorite trip was traveling by train to Washington State.  She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed quilting and showing at the Huron County Fair.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and her cat, Dusty.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Donovan of Norwalk, Colleen (Bill) Meese of Tennessee and James Donovan of Attica; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; siblings, Zenia (Steve) Kobylski of Amelia, OH, Christine (Dennis) Deluga of Ohio City, OH, and Dorothy (Bob) Geary of Medina, OH; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gerald “Jerry” J. Donovan Jr. in 2021.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Norwalk.
