Ralph Garnes

Ralph E Garnes, age 79, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 8, 1943, in Canaan, Ohio to the late Gilbert and Margaret Garnes.  He served in the National Guard and worked at Sandusky Ford Motor Co. for 43 years.  He was a member of UAW Local 1216 and the Norwalk VFW Post 2743.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending flea markets and auctions.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon L. (Fraser) Garnes of Norwalk; children, Angela (Joel) Sehlmeyer of Norwalk, Christine (Robert) Earl of Norwalk, Russell (Robin) Larson of Berlin Heights and Richard (Kristin) Larson of Norwalk; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1st wife, Rebecca (Pisco) Garnes in 1972; and a brother, Gilbert “Sonny” Garnes; and a granddaughter at birth.

Per his request there will be no visitation and cremation will take place.  A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
