I will miss John as a colleague and I will miss John as a good friend.
John and I were only 12 days apart in age, giving me the ‘privilege’ to call him ‘old man’ for 12 days each and every year came January 2nd. The remainder of the year we were ‘young at heart’, and, apart from work related issues, discussed world problems, family and so much more.
John was taken away from us far too soon. I know I am not the only one feeling a void.

John has a way of homesteading in your heart. He was so sweet & caring. He made my mother, in her aging years, feel so special. Her heart was broken when she heard of death. Our prayers are with his family

Such sad news. John was my Band Buddy (mentor) my freshman year and meal alternate. He lived in Tripp Hall and I thought it was amazing someone had a fireplace in their dorm room! He was my idol and I’ll never forget his kindness. March on John, Zaaaaa

I’m sure going to missing going to gun shows with him. Stopping at Forts for a drink and food. Talking about opening a small greenhouse and the latest world problems.
Have wings on mondays at the freighthouse and talking about kids and moms.
He always asked how everyone in my family was doing.
Great Christian friend who went to be with his Lord and Savior sooner than later

I met John briefly at Jax's birthday party last year. He was so very kind! I also have heard a lot about him and his love for his family through my time spent getting to know his daughter. My heart breaks for the ones he left behind. Kelsey, what a wonderful father to have had, one to be proud of and blessed that God chose you to be his daughter.
