James Arthur Gassman

James Arthur Gassman, age 83, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born July 5, 1939, at Norwalk Memorial Hospital. He was a 1957 graduate of St. Paul High School and attended John Carroll University. In his early days he worked as a mailman and in construction. He worked at Janesville as a foreman, plant manager, sales, then retiring as Vice President of Sales. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Eagles 711, and former Elks Lodge 730 member.
He is survived by his wife of seven years, Judith (Bush) Gott-Gassman; children, Adam & Diana Gott of Pocatello, ID, Mark & Kelly Gott of Matthews, NC, Brian Gott of Charlotte, NC, Bryan Figler of Sandusky, OH, John & Lori Gassman of Columbus, OH, Jim & Rhonda Gassman of Mt. Vernon, IN, Jennifer VandeSteeg of McKinney, TX, Jason & Jennifer Gassman of Milan OH, and Joe & Stacie Gassman of Austin, TX; friend, Judy Scott of McKinney, TX; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Dean & Gloria Gassman of Carmel, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Rose (Stoll) Gassman; and his second wife, Nancy Gassman in 2013.
Friends may call on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
