Gary F Gregory

Gary F Gregory, age 83, of Norwalk, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at The Willows in Willard.

He was born February 18, 1939, in Monroeville to the late Floyd and Erma (Spring) Gregory.  He was a graduate of Monroeville High School and served in the US Navy from 1957 until 1959, while being stationed in Cuba.  He worked as a truck driver for over 42 years with Ford Motor Co. in Lorain and retired from the Avon Lake plant.  He was known as “grandpa duck” to his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed western movies, classic rock, The Eagles and Country music.  He was a prankster and was an avid golfer.  He was past commander at the American Legion Post 41 in Norwalk.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Denise (Ross) Gregory of Norwalk; children, Kim (David) Stang of Monroeville, Sherrie (Donavon) Karnehm of Monroeville, Debbie Gregory of Norwalk, Jim (Wendy) Gregory of Norwalk, Justin Hopson of Norwalk, and James (Sara) Hopson of Norwalk; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jim Gregory of Maryland, Gayle Gregory of Colorado, and Helen Slater of Vickery, OH; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1st wife, Carol Gregory in 1993; twin brother, Larry Gregory, and John Gregory; a grandson, Craig Karnehm; and a brother in infancy.

A celebration of life gathering will be held 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Norwalk American Legion Post 41, 406 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH.  Private interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Monroeville later.

Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk, OH 44857.
