Nathan "Nater" Lucal

Nathan “Nater” Andrew Lucal, age 33, of Norwalk, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 20, 2022, after enjoying the best birthday and vacation of a lifetime celebrated by a trip to Los Angeles, beach cities and surrounding sites. His highlighted birthday event was a personal tour of the LA County Firehouse Museum, accompanied by an original and technical advisor of the show, “Emergency”. Followed by lunch at the Blazin Claw restaurant and professional ballgame, Los Angeles Angel victory in 11 innings over the Minnesota Twins, which put the Cleveland Guardians in First place ever since.

He was born August 13, 1989, in Norwalk to the parents of Deborah (Smith) Lucal and the late Raymond Lucal. He attended St. Mary Elementary until 8th grade and was a 2010 graduate of Norwalk High School. He worked in document destruction with CLI, self advocacy and active member of the Rec Department at CLI in Norwalk. He was a profound artist and painted at Artists’ Open Studio, Inc. in Norwalk in the past few years. He is the former cookie baker of “Nate the Great” cookies. He was an avid fan of all Cleveland Sports teams, and especially OSU Buckeye Football. He enjoyed attending action movies, especially super heroes, Marvel, Thor and Top Gun in the theatre, and watching movies and WWE Wrestling at home. He was active with AOS, Kiwanis Atkion Club, a member of Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711, and St. Mary Catholic Church in Norwalk.

He is survived by his mother, Deborah (Smith) Lucal of Norwalk; aunts and uncles, Anna (Richard) Weisenberger of Norwalk, Donald Lucal of Willard, Richard (Donna) Lucal of West Chester, David (Cindy) Smith of Norwalk; and beloved rescue dog, Hershey; and five cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond L. Lucal in 2019; brother, Matthew R. Lucal in 2015; and his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his uncle, David Lucal in 2019.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, August 26, 2022, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, where his family requests his guests to wear Ohio State or Scarlet and Gray colors “even if you’re a Michigan fan”. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 38 W. League Street, Norwalk concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Anthony Recker and Francis Mariadas. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Norwalk.
