Thomas S. Taylor

Thomas Sherman Taylor, age 72, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born August 28, 1949, in Norwalk to the late Robert E. Taylor and Gloria (Hawley) Leslie. He attended Maplehurst Elementary and Norwalk Middle School and was a 1967 graduate of Firestone High School in Akron. He attended the University of Akron and studied Secondary Education and Ohio History.
He began his career in retail sales with Regal in the Akron Shopping Mall and managed two stores, then worked with Spencer Gifts where he managed a store in Springfield, OH. Later, enjoyed selling shoes for a family-owned business before moving back to Norwalk. He enjoyed living near the Lake and sunsets. He worked as an office manager at Pugh Motors and 12 years in the Huron County Clerk Title office, retiring in 2015. He was a car enthusiast and researching history and geography.
He is survived by his sister, Judy Ferguson, and her daughter, Anne (Taylor Dooley) Mitchell, and her twins, Finn and Graham; cousins, Laurie (Norm Maschner) Weltlin and Leslie (Gary Rash) Neuberger; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, uncle, Jack Hawley; and his aunts, Barbara Weltlin and Shirley (Hawley) Doughty.
Private interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
