Thomas A. Herner

Thomas A Herner, age 77, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born November 29, 1944, in Norwalk to the late Gilbert and Louise (Claus) Herner. He was a graduate of Monroeville High School and served in the US Army for seven years. He was a farmer all of his life and worked at Donnelly’s, owned TNT Services, Inc., and drove a dump truck for Dellisanti Trucking and Mesenburg Trucking. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed going to air shows, remote control airplanes and his flying club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ann (Frederick) Herner of Norwalk; children, Michelle (Brian Kinnard) Saiter of Milan, Thomas A. (April) Herner II of Wakeman, Jeff (Gina) Herner of Sandusky and Kristine (James) Weinert of Norwalk; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, David (Peggy) Herner of Norwalk and Fred Herner of Willard; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Burton Wooster; and brother, William Herner.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Private interment will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the family in care of the funeral home.
