Marguerite Melick

Marguerite (Baker) Melick, age 84, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born June 12, 1937, in Greenwich to the late Stanley and Aditha (Bracken) Baker. She was a graduate of South Central High School. She worked many years at Midwest Industries in Willard, was a professional house cleaner and retired from Mayflower in Norwalk. She moved to Milan in 1970 and was a member of the Norwalk Eagles #711, Church of God, and was a lifetime member of Norwalk VFW ladies auxiliary. She was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, enjoyed knitting, bird watching, attending karaoke, hairstyling for her friends and family and especially enjoyed the Milan Melon Festival. She was happy visiting family, friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was active with the Senior Center crocheting for charities and donating their crafts to nursing homes. She also enjoyed playing the lottery and was known to be very lucky through the years. She will be missed by all and recently celebrated her 51-year anniversary.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary W. Melick to whom she married April 2, 1971; children, Rich Reed of Newark, OH, Angela (Homer) Dalton of Wakeman, Mark (Pam) Reed of Norwalk, Robin (Ed) Gerken of Delaware, OH and Bryon (Laura) Reed of Granville, OH; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Betty, Madge, Lucille and Bob; and a grandchild, Corey Creed Willis.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Private interment will be held later at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
