I loved this man growing up. He was the only father I knew. He adopted me. A raised me up until my mother passed (Bonnie Lee) his wife. It’s said I was not even mentioned as being his daughter. But I will still miss him.

As a child, as a Cub Scout (troop 202), I recall a weekly Boy Scout camp out held during fair week at the Huron County Fairgrounds. My father along with Mr Scholes we’re the scout leaders. I was privileged as a Cub Scout to attend Boy Scout events because of my older brother and father. Being a few years younger than Terry, as a child I really looked up to the older boys. One evening (probably every night) we had a fire. The real purpose of a fire was so we cook our food/supper, then fill up our mess kits.
Later that eve, the Scout Masters had left our camp site briefly, whereas…. this is where my story starts with Terry Lee. The fire was moderately large and Terry (daring other also) would run fast and jump through/over the blazing fire, over the hot coals. Wow I thought to myself, that was really “cool”! Or maybe it was not, stupid? Regardless, all went okay except when the Scout Masters returned and found out (poor Terry, I felt so bad for him). Later on in the eve when many of us were bunkering down in our tents.... Ka’Boom! Someone had thrown an aerosol can into the fire. It exploded so loudly, sparks and ashes shot up at least 20’ and which almost had extinguished the fire.
Hummmm, makes me wonder “Where was Terry Lee beforehand?”
I attended the Salvation Army service today held for Terry today. What a beautiful event they provided for him and his family!
RIP my friend

Sometime after my brother passed away in 1997, Terry stepped in to raise my nieces. He did not have to do that. He was great to them. I will be forever grateful for that.

Terry E Lee, my Dad was sadly taken away too soon on his life’s journey.. I had 2 Dads growing up, Terry being my biological father whom I barely saw as a child.. I could count on one hand how many times I saw my dad growing up. My biggest rememberance was when my brother Terry and I visited our dad in Germany back in 1983 and we stayed our entire summer vacation.. 2 years ago my mom invited my dad over to my uncles house for Christmas Eve and my dad and I started re-bonding while sitting next to each other at the dinner table. Although our connection was great, the time that day was short lived.. My dad and I continued to call and text each other and he really started becoming the father and grandfather I had always Dreamt of.. My dad in the next few years slowly began to lose his voice and his cancer came back with a vengeance. In 2 short days, I managed to
close a chapter, a relationship with a father and both in a loving way.. My dad left we flooded with mixed emotions, happy, sad, angry, a blurred mixed of emotions.. The last words my dad spoke to me “I Love You and I Always Will” My last words to my dad “I Love You Dad and I Always Will” Rest In Peace Dad..

It was one of the highest honors of my life to serve alongside Terry Lee. He was never one to mince words when it came to letting you know exactly what he thought about something. That said, he was just the kind of man who would go miles out of his way to help someone in trouble. If I've learned one thing from Terry, its to let your actions speak louder than your words.

To know Terry is to love him. From silly wigs, to the Slingshot… to crude jokes and to making sure hungry people stayed fed… he was full of life and will be greatly missed by my sister’s family and beyond.
