Karl "Tim" Schauss Sr.

Karl “Tim” Schauss, Sr, age 79, of Wakeman, left this earth surrounded by family on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Gaymont Nursing Center.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alice M. (Weitzel) Schauss, to whom he married on the 29th of February 1992. Also survived by his children, Thomas Schauss of Friendsville, TN, Susan (Dennis) Potts of Saginaw, MI and Karl “Tim” Schauss Jr. of Mooresville, NC; a stepdaughter, Patricia Hicks of Elyria; nine grandchildren and a special grandson on the way; and two great-granddaughters.
Karl retired after 40 years of working as a lift driver at Lorain Ford.
He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting with the boys, and built and enjoyed flying radio control airplanes.
He also enjoyed planning the yearly trips across 46 states and four Canadian providences on their Gold Wing motorcycle. He was a life member of the Gold Wing Road Riders and was a 40-year-plus member of the Norwalk Eagles aerie 711. He was a member of the Erie County Cloud Climbers, National Rifle Association, and a life member of the Huron County Genealogy Society.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Wakeman Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at the Wakeman Eagles on Route 20 and all friends and family are welcome. Arrangements are entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wreaths Across America and mailed to DAR, 56 South River Street, Wakeman, OH 44889.
