We will miss our Dad. In addition to reflecting on his life and his wonderful qualities, at this sad time we need comfort and hope. And God’s word gives us just that, the promise of a resurrection and a time there will be no more death.
Jesus assures us: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” (John 5:28, 29)
Come out to what? “But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.” (Psalm 37:11)
A beautiful world where there will be no more death. “Death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore,” (Revelation 21:4)
Yes, this is a sad time, and we will miss Dad. But we can draw comfort from the promises God gives about a bright future for all of us.
