Thomas W. Loyer

Thomas W Loyer, age 72, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born June 19, 1949 in Cleveland, OH to the late Bernard and Carmella (Grizzanti) Loyer. He served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Afterwards he joined the Air Force National Guard Red Horse Division at Camp Perry and became an accomplished Electrician. While not working he enjoyed helping family members and friends with any projects needing done. He was a father figure to anyone that did not necessarily have one.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice (Meter) Loyer of Norwalk; children, Lyndsay Loyer and Matthew Schramm of Norwalk, Dawn Hush of Port Clinton, Allison Libengood of Elyria; grandchildren; and his siblings, Michael Loyer, Maria Hackathorn and Renee Whitney, all of Norwalk.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, William Loyer; and brothers, Daniel, Steve and Bernard.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Townsend Township Hall from 2:00 P.M. until time of service at 3:30 P.M. followed by a reception for all family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
