Larry Werner

Larry Joseph Werner, age 76, of Norwalk passed away, Sunday, January 9, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born September 19, 1945, in Norwalk and was a 1964 graduate of Norwalk High School. In his early years, he enjoyed traveling with his family, going to amusement parks, and riding “every” ride. He also enjoyed 80’s Hair Metal music and attending concerts with his daughter and friends. He was a truck driver most of his life and retired in 2011 from Pat Riley Trucking. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a love of nature, enjoying the outdoors with fishing, hunting, and camping, and sometimes just sitting in his car at the Reservoir with his coffee and sweet roll listening to classical music and the sounds and sights of nature.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathleen (Walker) Werner of Norwalk; children, Lori (Martin) Galindo of Norwalk and James C. Werner of Michigan; grandchildren, Adelaide, Isabella, Rafael, and Javier Galindo; and step-grandson, Cody Hartman; foster sister, Susan (James) Smith of Norwalk; and many nieces and nephews.

Following the death of his mother, Floreine Morfoot, Larry was adopted at a young age by the late Warren and Eva Werner. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy, Willard Jr., Shirley (Robert) Malin, Billy, Robert Walker, Keith Werner, Patricia Loolen, Charles “Sonny” Werner, and Rick Werner.

Friends may call on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 2 – 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 14, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
