Joseph Hipp

Joseph C Hipp, age 91, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born November 9, 1930 in Meadville, PA to the late Clarence and Gertrude (Weidinger) Hipp. He attended St. Mary’s Elementary and Norwalk High School and served in the US Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the Norwalk VFW Post 2743, Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711, and the Moose Lodge. He was very creative and specifically enjoyed creating planes, helicopters and other things out of pop cans. He enjoyed traveling to casinos, and was known to always put a smile on people’s faces. His quirky humor and uniqueness will forever go unmatched by any other. He was always willing to help anyone out that was in a tough situation. People that know Joe, know there are not enough words to fully describe his character.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra L. (Larry) Kessler of Norwalk; grandchildren, Joseph Koelsch of Huron, Kristen Koelsch of Berlin Heights, Kylie (Chase) Grealy of Huron and Sara (Brian) Weller of Sandusky; and six great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Eda Hipp of Norwalk; and brother-in-law, Howard Schild; sister, Rose Marie Rosalina; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hipp; siblings, Regina Schild, Tom Rini and Paula Kovach; daughter, Lisa Jo Stoneham; and his biological mother, Mary (Gello) Oley.
A private family graveside service will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
