Thom Berger

Thomas “Thom” Snowden Berger, age 68, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 at The Cleveland Clinic.

He was born June 28, 1953 in Bellevue to the late Snowden and Rose (Pietraface) Berger. He was a 1971 graduate of Monroeville High School and worked at Roeder’s for many years, also worked as a maintenance supervisor at NorStat in Norwalk. He was an owner operator of his own truck, retiring in 2018. He was an avid motorcyclist and spent many years attending the Daytona Bike Week and vacationing in Florida with his wife, daughter and family. He enjoyed watching the History Channel and was a member of the Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known to always be tinkering and doing odd jobs around the house.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sharon Berger of Norwalk; daughter, Emma Rose Berger of Norwalk; sisters, Jeannie (Rick) Leal of Bellevue and Marylou Berger of Norwalk; dearest family friend, Steve Oblender of Norwalk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Snowden in June 1999 and Rose in January 2008; and his brother, James Berger in January 2020.

A celebration of life gathering will be held 10:00 – 11:30 A.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A prayer service will follow at 11:30 A.M. with Pastor Charles Conrad officiating and dearest friend Brad Hayes. Private interment will be held at a later date.

I'm absolutely heartbroken for the Berger family. Prayers to all. I loved Tommy like a brother. What a wonderful soul. Will miss him terribly. So sad. Words cannot express my sympathy. Love and hugs for Sharon, Emma, Jeannie, Rick, and Mary Lou. I apologize for not being able to attend. I really wanted to be there for the family.
