Rick Lewis

Richard “Rick” Dean Lewis, age 66, of Norwalk passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his residence in Norwalk.

He was born September 7, 1955 in Marion, OH, son to the late Donald and Margaret (Hildebrand) Lewis.

Rick joined the Air Force at the young age of 17 and served our country for the next four years. While in the service Rick became a Pharmacy Specialist and was stationed in serval locations. Upon discharge he was awarded the Air Force Longevity Service Award, National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. Following his Discharge he moved to Oklahoma to raise his family and was employed by the Oklahoma State University until moving back to Ohio in 1992 where he spent the remainder of his life.

Rick is survived by his four sons, Thomas (Stephanie) Lewis of Shelby, OH, Jason (Dorene) Lewis of Perkins, OK, Kenneth Lewis of Stillwater, OK, and Steven (Deanna) Lewis, of Stillwater, OK, grandchildren, Brandon, Alyson, and Carson Lewis, Tyler, Jacob, and Jason Aubrey, Jazlynn, Sylus, Aden, and Grayson Lewis, Dylan, Brooklyn, Hanna, Steven, and Kaylynn Lewis, and 4 great-grandchildren Liam, Lorelei, Amelia, and Lilly. Rick is also survived by a brother, Donald (Jeannie) Lewis of Mansfield, TX and their family, as well as longtime friend Evelyn Jones and her family including David Allison.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts and uncles, and his first wife, Pamela Zimmer Lewis.

A celebration of life service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Lexington VFW, 3577 US-42, Lexington, OH with military honors and officiated by Rev. O. Douglas Tackett. Private interment will follow at Shauck Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
