Richard "Dutch" Goodsite

Richard Milton (Dutch) Goodsite, 88, originally from Norwalk, passed away at his home on Dec 15, 2021 in Sanford, Florida.

Dutch was born in Norwalk, OH to Mae and Russell Goodsite on Nov 10, 1933. He attended Norwalk High School and joined the Army in 1951 at the age of 17 and served proudly during the Korean War. He married his wife Catherine (Cashy) Goodsite on Nov. 12, 1954. He worked for Ford Motor Company as a press operator until his retirement in 1984.

After he retired, Dutch and Cashy spent many years at various flea markets, buying and selling antiques. Once they relocated to Florida, they enjoyed playing the slots at the casinos several times a year. He also enjoyed buying antique toys on Ebay. Most of all, Dutch enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by children, Tom Goodsite, Sanford FL, Scott Goodsite, Norwalk, Marge Mihalko of Deltona, FL and Randy (Shari) Goodsite, Avon, OH; grandchildren; Stephen Mihalko, and Bridget Mihalko, Deltona, FL; Shea Karhoff, St. Charles, MO, Kallen Goodsite, St Louis, MO; Christine (Joe) Douglas-Glick, and Mikayla Goodsite Avon, OH; great-grandchildren; Quin, Auden, and Ellie Karhoff, St Charles MO, and Brianna Hageman, St Louis, Mo, Ashton Douglas, Avon, OH; and his brother, Ron (Sue) Goodsite of Huron; sister, Shirley Geiss of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death in 2014 by his loving wife (Cashy) of 59 years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Graveside service will be held for the family immediately following.

Mr. Goodsite was a kind and wonderful man. He will be sadly missed.
