Colin M. Vanderpool

Colin M Vanderpool, age 44, of Norwalk and former Shelby resident passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 21, 2021. Born May 13, 1977, in Bucyrus, he was a 1995 graduate of Shelby High School and Pioneer Joint Vocational School where he studied Industrial Diesel Mechanics. Colin cherished the many friendships he made throughout his life. He was many times referred to as a Jack of all trades. He was an excellent mechanic, and his carpentry and roofing skills were admirable. Farming ran through his blood and brought him great joy. He also followed in the footsteps of both sides of his family with his musical talent and was a superb self-taught drummer, playing in many bands over the years.

Colin is survived by his mother, Janice Alt of Shelby; father, Dan (Lesa) Vanderpool of Kentucky; two daughters, Whitney (Chandler Durbin) Vanderpool, Leah Vanderpool; one son, Jesse Vanderpool; special friend, Heidi Fisher; grandchildren, River Durbin and baby girl Durbin (due in December); nephew, Kyle Rowlinson; niece, Karissa (Boaz) Brodine; half siblings, Scott (Rhonda) Vanderpool and Missy (Jack) Wiles; maternal grandparents, Harold and Phyllis Alt; and numerous aunts, uncles cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Shannon Vanderpool; daughter, Layne Vanderpool; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Nora Vanderpool.

Arrangements by Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Private services will be held at a later date.
