George Marion

George Harrison Marion, age 74, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Norwalk Memorial Home.

He was born September 21, 1946 in Norwalk to the late George O. and Florine E. (Harrison) Marion. He was a graduate of Norwalk High School and attended Central State University. He served in the US Army and lived in Norwalk all his life. He worked at Fanny Farmers, Hug Paving and retired in 1985 from Stockley Canning as a boiler operator. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State University, Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers, music, singing, crossword puzzles and listening to jazz.

He is survived by his brother, Dennis O. (Linda) Marion of VA; caregiver and niece, Leslie Campbell-Thompson; and other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George in 1984 and Florine in 2001; sisters, Phyllis Spencer in 2015, Marjorie Harper in 2015 and Shirley Sutherland in 1991.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Dear Denny and family: I am so sorry to hear about George's passing., before Covid I would see him at the nursing home as I did my visits to St.Paul shut ins. We wold reminisce about growing up in the Newton.Jefferson St. Please accept my deepest sympathy!
