Reese Wineman

Reese Wineman, age 73, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at his residence.

He was born February 28, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio to Reese Mac Wineman and Mary (McLaughlin) Wineman. Reese graduated from St. Francis High School and John Carroll University where he was a standout Rugby player. He received his law degree from the University of Toledo. Reese joined the Huron County Bar Association in 1976. He served as an Assistant County Prosecutor, City Law Director, served on the Board of Elections and was an active member of the Huron County Democratic Party. He was a devote Catholic and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children, Matt (Shelly) Wineman, Adam (Becca) Wineman, Emily (Todd) Hildum and Keaton (Andrea) Wineman; he also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren, Mac, Henry, Sawyer, Harper, Harrison and Wren. Reese also had a special place in his heart for Soozi (David) Riedy, Tricia Selka, Barb Whitehead and Jane Ott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Eleanor Urbanski; and his wife, Lisa M. Wineman in 2018.

A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 19, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A luncheon will follow in the gathering space at St. Paul.

I met Reese while I was APA in Erie County in 1976. We attended many Prosecutor meetings together. He was also a worthy adversary as we faced each other in court several times. Very nice considerate guy. Our deepest condolences to his family. Attorney Ron Smith
