Oscar A. Garcia

Oscar Armando Garcia of Norwalk, OH, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021 after fighting a long courageous battle with cancer and pulmonary disease, surrounded by his family and loved ones at his bedside.
He was born December 8, 1939, in Laredo, TX to Manuela Garcia and Isarel Garcia. He lived in Brownsville, Texas until he met and married the love of his life, Tomasa, and moved to Norwalk, OH. He was employed at Certainteed Corp. for 26 years and retired in 2005. He often spoke of his great memories with his Certainteed Family.
Oscar enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and playing cards. He lived life to the fullest and always brought a laugh to everyone he spoke to.
Oscar will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father that would do anything for his family and for his teasing jokes, his entertaining stories, his generous smile and as a man of unfailing work ethic.
Oscar is survived by his wife of 53 years, Tomasa Garcia; son Alfredo (Phyllis) Garcia, Norwalk, OH, Daughters Viviana Lloyd and Elizabeth (James) Garcia- Jones of Norwalk, OH, and Melinda (Kofi) Lucky of Daytona Beach, FL. Further survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Stefen Dre Mckinney in 2010 and his uncle, Raul Aguilar in 2010.
The family would like to thank all of Oscar’s health caregivers and supporters and friends during his illness.
Friends may call Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk Ohio 44857. A private service will be held with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
