Charles B. Phillips
April 07, 2021
“Today, April 7, 2021, our dad, Charles B Phillips, passed away, due to the lengthy after-effects of a COVID19 infection.
Many people knew him. Many did not. Those of you, who did know him, already know all of these things. But for those, who did not, here’s just a little bit about him:
He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, and a grandfather - a few of those things “in-law” as well. Those things came first.
He was also a veteran and a retiree from a lifetime of work as a meat cutter and band-saw operator. It wasn’t always easy but he just kept going - and he did his best.
He was a Cub Scout leader, a Little League baseball coach, and a dedicated fan of Norwalk and St. Paul athletics: football, wrestling, tennis, golf, basketball, softball, cross country, track and field, as well as bowling, cheerleading, and volleyball. He loved listening to music from only one musician. We think you can guess who participated in all of those things.
Dad joins his father, Charles Phillips, mother, Laura, two sisters, Carol and Linda, and some very good friends in eternity. From there, he’ll watch his wife of 52 years, Amanda, his four sons, John, Tim (Amy), Jeff, and Tom (Nicole), as well as his twelve grandchildren live the full and happy lives that he always wanted them to live. And we will.
So that’s it - just a few paragraphs that just don’t say enough. We will miss him tremendously. But we are thankful that he’s now at peace and resting after a lifetime well-lived.
Our most heartfelt and eternal gratitude goes to Heartland Hospice for their empathic care and kindness.
And finally, if you’d like to do something to honor or remember him, just do something nice for someone else. He really would like that. Besides, it really makes a world of difference to people.”
