William D Ritchie

William D Ritchie, age 76, of Norwalk passed away Monday, November 9, 2020, at Fisher Titus Medical Center.

He was born October 27, 1944 to the late Orvel and Effie Marie Ritchie in Centerton, OH. He served in the 101st Airborne Division while in Vietnam for the United States Army. He worked as a locomotive engineer for Norfolk Southern for over 25 years. He volunteered for meals on wheels and Fisher Titus Medical Center. He loved Cleveland sports and Ohio State Buckeyes, and was passionate about donating to local charities.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ritchie; children, Lynn (Scott) McGuckin and Scott (Julie) Ritchie; grandchildren, Alyssa (Zeck) Heater, Scotty (Lucilene) McGuckin, Lindsey (Jake) Lavey, Hannah, Haley, Allaina, and Olivia Ritchie; great- grandchildren, Elianna, Gianna, Josephina, Layla, and two baby boys on the way. Also survived by sisters; Carol(Donald) Burdine and Barb Collins, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Roger Collins.

Friends may call Friday, November 13, 2020, from 4-6 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Norwalk Chapel, 156 S Norwalk Rd E, Norwalk, OH 44857. Burial following at Woodlawn Cemetery.
