Alfred J Feuerstein

Alfred J Feuerstein, age 91, of Norwalk passed away Friday, October 9, 2020, at Norwalk Memorial Home.

He was born January 5, 1929, to the late Alfred and Dora Feuerstein in Collins, Ohio. He served two years in the Army. He hauled milk, worked at Jamesville Products for 37 years, and was groundskeeper of the St. Joseph’s cemetery for 12 years. He was a part of the Altar Rosary Society, past president of Holy Name Society, and past Commander and past Chaplain of the American Legion Norwalk Post. He also volunteered for many years at Fisher Titus. While in the nursing home, he enjoyed bingo and singing.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Kathy) Feuerstein, Debby (Larry) Warner, Harold (Michele) Feuerstein, and Al (Cathy) Feuerstein; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Feuerstein; sister, Eleanor, and brothers, Joe and Paul.

A special thank you to his favorite nurse Crystal and her daughter Liberty for their special care, friendship and sharing treats with him. And a special thank you for the care he received at Norwalk Memorial Home and Fisher Titus.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville with Rev. Ronald Schock officiating. A live webcast of the service may be viewed at https://stalphonsus-stjoseph.org/ Private interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

I am so sorry for your loss. Al and Be a were so kind and welcoming to me when I worked at St. Paul. We were distantly related through the Best Family...but Al treated me as family... I have fond memories of both your mom and dad. Be consoled in your loss. Peace and prayers.
