William H. Moffit

William H Moffit, age 88, of Norwalk passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 surrounded by his family.
He was married on August 28, 1954 to the late Dorothy (Miller) Moffit. He worked for many years at the Norwalk truck line where he met his wife. He was owner of the Old Gulf Inn for thirty years. He was in the army and served in the Korean war. He was a member of the FOE of Norwalk and VFW of Norwalk. He enjoyed spending Sunday evenings with his family, watching his grandkids and great grand kids. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and playing cards at the Eagles. He liked to visit friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his sons, Bruce Moffit and Jon Hendrickson, Craig and Debra (Spettle) Moffit, Keith and Colleen (Landoll) Moffit. Grandchildren, Troy Henry, Angela Moffit, Erin Johnson, Ashley Thompson, Brian Preston, Amanda Voelzke, Hillary and Emily Dalton-Moffit, Abby, Logan, Owen, and Gavin Moffit; 12 great grandchildren and sister, Dorothy Copsey.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years on June 8, 2013, his daughters LaDonna Henry on September 27, 2008 and Patty on January 30, 1956; his parents and several brothers and a sister.
Friends may call Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 4-7p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A private funeral will be held on Friday July 17, 2020 with burial at St. Paul cemetery. Friends may gather for a luncheon at his home Friday, July 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 130 Shady Lane Drive Unit C, Norwalk.
