Betty Jane (Kocher) Swabley, age 98, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday morning, February 2, 2021, at Gaymont Nursing Home.

She was born to the late Edward and Ida (Rummell) Kocher on January 26, 1923, in Greenwich, Ohio. She was a 1940 graduate of St. Paul High School and Oberlin Business College. She worked at Rotary Printing, Badger Insurance, Trojan Powder, and Bowen Insurance. Betty enjoyed reading, walking, and traveling. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, James Swabley of Norwalk, and daughter, Diane Boggs of Huron.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Swabley; infant son, Michael; and brother, William Kocher.

Due to Covid, a private Christian burial will be held at St. Paul Cemetery, Norwalk. Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Salvation Army, 55 Whittlesey Avenue, Norwalk Ohio.

I just learned of your mother's passing. You have my deepest sympathy. She was a great person, and have many happy childhood memories of her, particularly walking past her house going home. May she rest in eternal peace. You are in my prayers.
