Carol M Comyns

Carol Marie Comyns, age 80, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

She was born September 27, 1939 in Norwalk to the late Joseph John Soisson and Marie Pauline (Kramer) Soisson. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Paul High School and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She retired after 45 years as an Assistant Vice President for Huron County Bank, Florida Coast Bank and Industrial Savings in Norwalk. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an active St. Paul Booster. She was an avid wood carver and was also a member of the National Wood Carvers Association. She enjoyed playing Sudoku, crossword puzzles, computer games, euchre and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John G. Comyns Sr. in 1983; son, John Comyns Jr; and her siblings, Robert and Paul Soisson , Margorie Hite, Mary Jane Schneider and Esther Myers.

She was a proud step mother to Constance (Thomas) Schaffer, Catherine (Dave) Huot, Cynthia Comyns, Robert Comyns and Michael (Chris) Comyns; grandchildren, Michael (Karen), Thomas (Kristi), John (Julie) III, Jim (Kristin), Robert (Alaina) Jr., Andrew, Christine (Bobby), Nicole (John), Bailey, Ashley (Jake), Katelyn and Jessica; and 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Eileen Simon.

A private family graveside and funeral mass was held at St. Paul Catholic Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul Catholic Church or Norwalk Catholic School.
