Herman Gercke

Herman G Gercke, age 83, of Berlin Heights passed away Friday February 28, 2020 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born September 5, 1936 in Chicago, IL to the late Herman and Edith Gercke. He was a graduate of Wadsworth High school as well as University of Akron. He served in the Army for four years as the 1st Lieutenant at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit in Port Clinton. He was an award winning underwater photographer, and enjoyed wood working and planting trees. He enjoyed restoring and showing 1950’s classic cars.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna Gercke; children, Marcia Weldon, Keith Gercke, and Gail Gercke; six grandchildren and a sister, Pat Leberecht.

Friends may call Tuesday March 3, 2020 from 10:00 a.m until the time of the service at 11:00 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk with Pastor Ann Marshall officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church endowment fund.
