Melvin Comer

Melvin Comer, age 80, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Stein Hospice Care Center surrounded by his family.

He was born November 26, 1939 in Minford, OH to the late William and Ruth (Wheeler) Comer. He worked for 40+ years at Cedar Point as a supervisor of ride maintenance and as a security officer. He belonged to a motorcycle club and the classic car coddlers group. He enjoyed participating in corn hole tournaments and spending time at the senior center. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann (Hall) Comer of Norwalk; children, Jeffrey (Angela) Comer, Deborah (Jim) Bunting, grandchildren, Whitney Bunting, Allison (Brody) Obray, and Robyn (Brian) Dunn. Also survived by great grandchildren, Blakely and Ryker Obray and Carter Bunting. As well as siblings, Merven (Janet) Comer, James (Diane) Comer, Alfred Comer, Pauline (David) Reed and Donna Ratcliff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Edward Comer, and great granddaughter, Jaidyn Obray.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until service at 1:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk with Chaplain Mel Sayler officiating.
